They observed that access and equity to education to all has become an
urgent need for an overall development of the nation.
Collective efforts of all government and non-government organizations concerned are very vital in this regard.
Besides the government, rich people and financial institutions should come forward towards providing education to the underprivileged dropout children.
They were addressing a discussion on Monday prior to giving education materials among 200 school students coming from underprivileged families at Mallikpur village under Paba Upazila in the district.
Ladies Organisation for Social Welfare (LOFS) organized the program in association with Children Education and Awareness Programme and Bangladesh NGO Foundation.
LOFS Executive Director Shahnaz Parveen Lucky, headmaster of Pinnacle Study Home Sekendar Hossain, LOFS Programme Manager Md Shalah Uddin, Programme Officer Champa Khatun and local elite Shahidul Islam spoke on the occasion.
The discussants said students' dropouts from primary and secondary schools couldn't be prevented without collective efforts of all concerned especially teachers, guardians and community people.
Highlighting the aspects of ensuring child-friendly atmosphere in the society, they mentioned that all the government and non-government
organizations concerned should come forward to protect the legitimate rights of the underprivileged children.
Terming the children as the future power of the nation, they called for ensuring equal rights for development of their latent intelligence.
