jamuna sports desk: Young Bangladesh cricketers Soumya Sarkar and Mehedi Hasan Miraz had their fan boy moment on Monday as they met India captain Virat Kohli right after the one-off Test in Hyderabad. India win the match by 208 runs but Bangladeshi duo kept the on field rivalry aside to meet arguably the best batsman in the world at the moment.
With this win India extended their unbeaten run to 19 matches and have now win six consecutive series. Kohli was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for scoring 242 runs in the match which included a double hundred in the first innings.
Sarkar and Hasan, two of the most promising cricketers in the Bangladesh squad, met with Kohli and got their jerseys signed by Kohli.
Bangladeshi skipper Mushfiqur Rahim was also full of praise for India’s skipper as he admitted that his team could have done it if it had even one batsman of Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s calibre.
Mushfiqur was asked if he agreed with Kohli’s notion that “basic batting technique” would have saved the visitors from a defeat, Mushfiqur sarcastically replied: “If you had basic technique like Virat Kohli (has), then you would have scored at an average of 50 plus in Test matches. Then you won’t be needing even seven batsmen on the final day to save a match. Four would have been enough for a draw.
“Unfortunately, we don’t have a Virat Kohli in our team,” the visiting captain said.
